With only a few days remaining until the 5-day holiday period of April 30th and May 1st, room occupancy in Da Lat City remains relatively low, while hotels in Ha Long are already fully booked.

Mr. Le Anh Kiet, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Da Lat City, stated that a survey of hotels and other accommodation establishments in the area showed that new room bookings had reached 70-75%, with starred hotels achieving 85%; each booking by tourists averaged 2 days. As this holiday period also coincides with Lam Dong Tourism Golden Week 2023, Da Lat City hopes that tourists will continue to visit Da Lat in the coming days and throughout the holiday. According to Mr. Kiet, in preparation for welcoming visitors to Da Lat during the April 30th and May 1st holidays, Da Lat City has established three inspection teams to remind accommodation and food service establishments to publicly list prices, ensure food safety and hygiene, and implement COVID-19 prevention measures. If any instances of price gouging or overcharging are discovered, tourists can immediately call the hotline at 0913953207 for assistance and prompt resolution of issues.

Meanwhile, according to reports from various online travel agencies specialising in accommodation, many 3-5 star hotels in Ha Long are already fully booked for the 30 April - 1 May holiday period. Mr. Vu Tuan Bach, manager of Manalonis Hotel (Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh), stated: "Room rates in the Bai Chay area have increased by approximately 20-30% during this period, which is normal as holiday weekends always have higher prices than weekdays." Not only hotels, but also the fleet of boats for Ha Long Bay tours are ready for the peak season. To avoid long waits for tourists, travel companies have pre-contracted with day tour and overnight cruise operators. According to the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, to ensure safety during the 30 April - 1 May holiday, the locality will establish inter-agency inspection teams to conduct comprehensive surprise checks on all services in Ha Long City and other popular tourist destinations.

Quang Ninh province is expected to welcome approximately 430,000 visitors to its attractions and tourist sites during the 5-day holiday (29 April - 3 May), a 26% increase compared to 2022. Source: Thanh Nien Newspaper
